The John Howard Society, Fundy Region will be able to provide more counselling services to individuals and families in crisis.
The society announced Tuesday that it received a $12,500 grant from the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund.
Officials say the money will support an additional 100 hours of counselling services for the organization.
“The Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund grant will allow our clients the opportunity to quickly navigate major challenges, successfully diverting life crisis,” Margo Butler, co-executive director, said in a news release.
“We greatly appreciate the support, and recognize the positive impact this funding will have across the region we serve.”
According to the society, the funding will supplement the 200 hours of services currently provided in-kind by agency social workers.
The society provides one to eight hours of services per client or family in crisis, depending on the need and coordination of collaborative services.
