Horizon Health Network said it was treating 51 patients with COVID-19 as of Monday, including 17 who require an intensive care unit.
The Moncton Hospital (TMH) has 28 patients dealing with the virus, including three in an ICU.
The Saint John Regional Hospital has 12 COVID-19 patients, with six of them in intensive care.
Meanwhile, a release from the health network said 26 patients and six staff at The Moncton Hospital have tested positive for COVID-19 related to outbreaks on inpatient units at the hospital.
“The affected units are: Stroke and Family Medicine Unit (Unit 4600) (including patients from Unit 4400 – Rehabilitation, who have been transferred to this unit); Family Practice and Geriatric Unit (Unit 5100); and Family Medicine and Palliative Care Unit (Unit 3600),” reads the release.
No new positive cases have been reported at the hospital since Friday, and testing is expected to continue Tuesday.
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, two patients have tested positive for COVID-19 in connection with outbreaks at the hospital. There have been no new cases since last Thursday.
The affected units are Orthopaedic Surgery (3CS) and Internal Medicine (4CN).
An outbreak at the Miramichi Regional Hospital is impacting the intensive care unit and Family Practice Unit (2 West).
Horizon said it is facing high occupancy rates and staffing challenges across the board, but noted that patients should continue to attend their appointments unless notified.
The health authority is urging all New Brunswickers to keep emergency departments for emergencies only.
