After searches at two east side homes, members of Saint John Police Forces’ Major Crime and Street Crime units with help from Patrol services seized drugs and cash and arrested two people.
Searches were conducted Wednesday on Rothesay Avenue and Woodlawn Avenue.
A man and a woman in their 50s were arrested.
The pair are looking at numerous charges including possession of a controlled substance, trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of property obtained by crime.
They appeared in court on Thursday and were held for another court appearance scheduled for Monday.
This operation by the Street Crime Unit which includes police from Saint John and K.V started in October.
Police think the items seized could have a street value of approximately $140,000.
