Horizon Health Network hospitals now contain a total of 34 COVID-19 patients, including 16 individuals in intensive care.
In a news release issued on Friday afternoon, the health authority announced that only one COVID-19 outbreak within their facilities has discovered new cases.
Outbreaks in four units at The Moncton Hospital now include a total of 37 cases of COVID-19, states the release. Horizon said the case count is made up of 30 patients and seven staff.
“There was 1 new patient positive case on 5100 on Thursday, Dec. 2. There were 2 new positive cases on 4600 — 1 on each Monday, Nov. 29 and Tuesday, Nov. 30. There have been no new cases on 3600 since Friday, Nov. 26,” reads the release.
Testing of patients has been expanded to other units at The Moncton Hospital to ensure there are no asymptomatic cases.
In Saint John, where outbreaks have been declared in the Saint John Regional Hospital and the Ridgewood Veterans Health Wing, there are no new cases of COVID-19.
The case is the same for an outbreak declared at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, where an outbreak was declared in the Intensive Care Unit and Family Practice Unit.
