Saint John police have stayed busy this December during the Festive R.I.D.E. campaign.
A group of dedicated officers is working to ensure the roads are safe from impaired drivers during the holiday season.
Police say 1,795 vehicles went through checkpoints during the first three nights from Dec. 2 to 4.
A total of 153 mandatory alcohol-screening tests were conducted. Two drivers were arrested for impaired operation while one was arrested for refusing to provide a breath sample.
Police said two suspended drivers were issued violations under the Motor Vehicle Act and four vehicles were towed and impounded for 30 days.
In addition to the R.I.D.E. campaign, two other impaired drivers were arrested by members of the patrol division.
The campaign will continue until Dec. 31.
