More than 1,000 vehicles entered Festive R.I.D.E. checkpoints in Saint John over the weekend.
The campaign which brings together the Saint John Police Force, the Department of Justice and Public Safety and MADD Canada aims to reduce impaired driving everywhere.
A total of 115 mandatory alcohol screening tests were conducted and five 7-day suspensions were issued.
Police say one person was arrested for impaired driving, three drivers were suspended, and five vehicles were towed with one impounded for 30 days.
Joyce Nickerson is the president of the Saint John Chapter of MADD Canada.
In a news release, Nickerson said the goal of MADD is to stop impaired driving and to support victims of this violent crime. She also the injuries and deaths are 100 per cent preventable.
The campaign runs until December 31.
Anyone who sees a driver they think may be impaired should call 911.
