Nurse managers and supervisors represented by the New Brunswick Nurses Union (NBNU) have a new collective agreement.
The union said Monday that the members voted 79 per cent in favour of accepting a tentative agreement reached earlier in December.
Paula Doucet, president of the union, said she is pleased the collective agreement has been ratified.
“Nurse managers and supervisors in New Brunswick take on a lot of work and stress, and although I know their challenges won’t be fixed immediately, we are now moving in the right direction in order to help fix the poor working conditions that plague New Brunswick nurses,” Doucet said in a statement.
Last week, Part III nurses represented by NBNU voted 56 per cent in favour of their tentative agreement.
Details of the two agreements are not being released at this time, said the union.
Both bargaining groups voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action earlier in December.
A third bargaining group, representing registered nurses and nurse practitioners in nursing homes, also voted in favour of strike action. As of the last update on Dec. 10, they were still working to secure an agreement.
