Lights of Hope is a holiday tradition for St. Joseph’s Hospital, which is heading into its second year.
For every $250 raised between Nov. 22 and the New Year, the foundation will light a candle in one of the hospital’s 200 windows.
“Which brings light and hope to all, while raising critical funds for the hospital,” said Laurie Flood, executive director of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation.
Since Nov. 22, Flood mentioned community support has been great so far.
“Local Circle K’s are participating by accepting donations for us from their patrons, so things have been going really well,” she said.
The foundation aims to raise $50,000 with an end goal to support priority items at the hospital.
“So we can support programs like woman’s health, our men’s health clinic, prostate clinic, all kinds of different programs,” said Flood.
Lights of Hope is the last fundraiser for 2021, and Flood added while the community is still faced with the pandemic, the candles in the window can help bring joy to someone’s day.
“It’s just a little extra light and hope for all of us.”
