New Brunswick reported 265 new cases of COVID-19, one virus-related death, and 174 recoveries on Friday.
A person in their 70s from the Saint John region has died as a result of COVID-19.
Of the new cases, 85 are in the Moncton region, 97 are in the Saint John area, 39 are in the Fredericton health zone, 23 are in the Edmundston region, five are in the Campbellton area, five are in the Bathurst region, and 11 are in the Miramichi health zone.
34 patients are in hospital as a result of the virus, 15 require intensive care, and 12 are on a ventilator.
To date, 147 cases have been confirmed to be the Omicron variant.
82.8 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, 89.9 per cent have received their first dose of a vaccine and 17.8 per cent have received a booster dose.
