The Saint John Airport has a number goals attached to its strategic plan.
The plan has four pillars which are diversifying it’s revenue stream, broadening air service and routes, driving community ownership and enhancing facilities, processes and passenger experience.
Interim CEO Greg Hierlihy said the pandemic has further highlighted the need to build on their “non-aeronautical revenue” with one example being land development.
“We’ve really just begun the process of investigating how to best approach utilizing our land base. We will have a business plan in the very near term to address that,” Hierlihy said.
Hierlihy said they also want to work on developing their tenant base.
“In conjunction with our land development opportunities, our in terminal concessions and advertising. We think there are opportunities as passenger traffic returns,” Hierlihy said.
The full plan was recently laid out during a committee meeting which involves the Saint John airport’s senior executive, board and staff along with representatives of Port Saint John, Envision Saint John, the Saint John Region Chamber, NAV Canada, the provincial government and members of the business community.
