New Brunswick’s Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development is recruiting students for the upcoming forest fire season.
Locations include Bathurst, Miramichi, Fredericton, and Edmundston.
Duties for successful candidates include handling water pumps, carrying and hauling hose, digging fire line, and extinguishing flames.
An applicant must be a student in the current academic year and be attending a post-secondary institution in the fall and possess a valid driver’s license.
As well, they must be currently in the process of completing post-secondary education and training in a resource-related discipline such as forestry, resource management, or earth sciences.
The wage for a new applicant is $14.35 per hour/16 weeks while a returning member will get $15.90 per hour/16 weeks.
All applicants will be required to successfully complete physical fitness testing,
