Public Health said Monday that 443 positive rapid (point of care) test results were submitted with a January 9th result date.
Since the province created the POCT self-reporting web portal on January 5th, over 3,800 results from rapid tests have been submitted.
These numbers when combined with the daily positive PCR results on the COVID-19 dashboard are “understood to be lower than the actual number of cases”.
The reason for this is due to the delay between when people submit their results and the current spread of the Omicron variant.
Following enhancements, the dashboard will include daily self-reported positive test results including the health zones and age range of those who test positive.
