A catalytic converter was stolen from a Canadian Red Cross vehicle in Saint John over the weekend.
Spokesperson Dan Bedell said the vehicle was parked outside of their provincial office in Loch Lomond Mall on McDonald Street.
Bedell said the 10-year-old truck is used for a variety of purposes, including their Emergency Management program.
“We have other vehicles, so there is no significant impact on Red Cross operations,” Bedell said in an email to our newsroom.
Bedell said the vehicle is currently at a dealer for a repair estimate.
Staff Sgt. Sean Rocca with the Saint John Police Force confirmed they are investigating the theft, which was reported on Monday morning.
“The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between January 8th and January 10th,” Rocca said in a statement.
No suspects have been identified at this time, said Rocca.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Saint John Police Force at 506-648-3333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
