Police say a woman from Oromocto has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor.
Oromocto RCMP say they received info about alleged sexual misconduct between a female Child and Youth Teams — Integrated Service Delivery employee and a teenage male student in the area.
Officers arrested a 44-year-old woman following an investigation that began in September.
“She was released under strict conditions, including no contact with the victim, pending a later court appearance,” said a news release.
Julie Lynn Murphy appeared in court Monday and was s charged with sexual exploitation of a minor while being a person of trust or authority. She was also charged with unlawfully distributing cannabis to a person under 18.
Murphy was released pending an upcoming court appearance on Jan. 31 to enter a plea.
Child and Youth Teams offer services to children and youth with emotional, behavioural, mental health or addictions issues.
The multidisciplinary teams are comprised of professionals in various fields, such as psychology, social work and education.
