Saint John police say a man has been arrested for murder after an alleged stabbing in the city.
In a news release, police said the incident happened on Rockland Road around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday.
“It’s alleged two adult men known to each other and driving two separate vehicles were involved in an altercation. One driver stabbed the other driver,” said Staff Sergeant Sean Rocca in a phone interview.
Officers arrived on the scene minutes later to find a 30-year-old man unresponsive on the ground. He was later pronounced dead in the hospital.
“A 28-year-old man was taken into custody and subsequently arrested for murder. The Saint John Police Force Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Unit were called to the scene and continue to investigate,” added Rocca.
The accused is expected to appear in court on Thursday. His name has not yet been released.
