Donations in memory of Betty White are a huge help for provincial animal shelters and other animal rescue organizations.
Animal lovers and fans of the late actress donated on Monday on what would have been her 100th birthday. White died on Dec. 31.
The Charlotte County chapter raised more than $6,000 with donations still coming in.
The Saint John chapter brought in over $13,000 and noted in a Facebook post that White would love to see the worldwide support for animal shelters.
The Greater Moncton SPCA says it has collected more than $21,800 so far, which “smashed” its goal to raise $2,000 in White’s memory.
It plans to use some of the funds to renovate one of its cat rooms.
It’s estimated more than $60,000 was donated to provincial SPCA shelters. Smaller animal rescue organizations also benefitted.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the #BettyWhiteChallenge . Betty White has made a huge impact in the animal…
