A late-night fire on the West Side required attention from five City fire crews.
“Shortly before 1am, Engine Company 7 from Manchester Avenue arrived on scene and reported fire showing on the outside of the home and began advancing a hoseline to attack the fire,” reads a Facebook post by the Saint John Firefighters.
An additional four fire crews responded to the scene and worked to search the home for potentially trapped occupants, ventilate heat and smoke, and stop the spread of fire in the attic space, the post states.
There were no physical injuries reported from the incident.
The post added fires during the winter prove to be difficult for those involved and SJFD noted “our thoughts are with the family affected by last nights fire.”
