Six more New Brunswickers who had COVID-19 have died, Public Health reported on Saturday.
The individuals are from four different health zones and include two people either 90 or over in the Moncton region, a person in their 80s from the Saint John region, a person in their 70s and a person in their 90s from the Fredericton region and one person in their 80s from the Miramichi region.
Public Health announced there are 125 people hospitalized with COVID-19, and 12 of whom are in intensive care. Six of the individuals in hospital are on a ventilator.
Of those currently hospitalized, 74 were admitted for reasons other than COVID-19.
Based on PCR testing, there are 462 new cases of COVID-19, of which 146 are in the Moncton zone, 70 are in the Saint John area and 73 are in the Fredericton region.
The number of active known cases in the province stands at 4,926 after 247 recoveries. This includes 1,669 active cases in the Moncton zone and 1,010 in the Saint John area.
An additional 770 rapid test positives have been reported to provincial health officials.
Vaccination statistics provided on Saturday are as follows: 91.6 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers have received their first jab,83.6 per cent have received their second shot, and 37.4 per cent have rolled up their sleeve for a booster dose.
