A fundraising campaign that has pulled in over $5 million for truckers protesting vaccine mandates has been frozen.
Donations can still be made but GoFundMe has confirmed it’s holding the funds until a clear plan about how the money will be spent is provided.
The company says they’re ready to deliver the funds once that plan is provided by the organizer, Tammy Lich of Alberta.
She’s a member of the Maverick Party which supports the western provinces’ separation from Canada.
The fundraiser is to help cover the cost of the journey to Ottawa to protest vaccine mandates. Truckers are set to descend on Parliament Hill on Saturday.
According to GoFundMe, the group wants Ottawa to cease all vaccine mandates and scrap vaccine passports.
