A malfunctioning sprinkler system caused flooding on two floors of the K.V. Public Library in Quispamsis.
It started around 1 p.m. on Monday when a pipe split and the sprinkler system tanks emptied into the library.
Acting Library Director Norah Emerson said humidity has been a challenge.
“We are trying to get the place dried out so the books don’t start to warp and curl up,” Emerson said.
Emerson said fixing the damage will require some extensive repairs.
“We don’t have a comprehensive list of everything that’s gone wrong yet. We are still adding to it. We’ll be closed for a little bit to try and get everything back up and running,” Emerson said.
The library was not open when the flooding occurred.
During Level 3, all provincial libraries are operating with curbside service only.
