The Freedom Convoy protest is nearing its final destination and Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole has announced he’ll meet with some of the truckers involved.
Most trucks have already arrived in Ontario and many more are already in Ottawa.
O’Toole promised in a speech late Thursday he would meet with truckers.
“The convoy itself is becoming a symbol of the fatigue and the division we’re seeing in this country,” he says. “I will be meeting with truckers to hear their concerns.”
O’Toole was careful to say he only planned to meet with truckers, avoiding the protest’s organizers.
The convoy of big rigs is set to arrive at Parliament Hill in its entirety Saturday.
Ontario police are expecting around 2000 demonstrators in the city.
