Another weekend, another winter storm.
Most of the province is under a winter storm warning.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Jill Maepea says once again, the southeast will be the hardest hit with lots of snow, “We expect it to be up to 40 centimetres. However, during Saturday night and possibly Saturday evening, there may be a changeover to ice pellets or freezing rain, so that may inhibit some snowfall amounts.”
This winter storm is expected to arrive in the south on Saturday morning.
We can expect high winds of up to 100 kilometres an hour which will mean zero visibility in blowing snow.
New Brunswickers will spend Sunday digging out, once the storm taper off in the morning.
As for temperatures, Maepea says, “Usually when we have storm systems, it does give us relief from that cold arctic air mass. That is going to be the case with this system, however we are expecting a return to cold air on Monday and Tuesday.”
She adds we will get a bit of a break from the cold mid week, “We are expecting a warm up in our temperatures which we haven’t seen in awhile. I think it will be a welcome warmup with tem, temperature rising to near zero and possibly above.”
