Provincial officials have reported the death of an inmate at a Saint John hospital over the weekend.
A news release said an inmate at the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre was transported to the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday and passed away on Sunday.
The man who died was serving a sentence in custody.
Officials do not suspect foul play or self-harm and, because of department policy, the Office of the Coroner has been informed.
The age and cause of death of the man were not released.
