Some New Brunswickers who want to see current COVID-19 mandates end took their message to the premier’s house.
Dozens of people gathered outside of Premier Blaine Higgs’ residence in the town of Quispamsis on Saturday evening.
A convoy of vehicles left Fredericton for Saint John that afternoon before proceeding to the premier’s house.
According to the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, more than 100 people and several vehicles were in attendance.
“The protest was noisy but remained peaceful,” Insp. Anika Becker said in a news release on Sunday.
Becker said there were no arrests and the protesters left the area “after a short period of time on site.”
Officers from the Department of Justice and Public Safety also attended the event along with Kennebecasis regional police.
