Efforts continue to end protests in Ottawa.
Four federal Ministers held a news conference yesterday in response.
Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Dominic LeBlanc says they must end, “Our government is confident that the City of Ottawa and the province of Ontario have the tools and the jurisdiction to best respond to this crisis.”
Protests in the Capital city against COVID-19 restrictions are into day twelve.
“We will continue to liaise with our provincial and municipal partners to put an end to this unacceptable situation and as always stand ready, as Minister Blair said, to provide any appropriate assistance available,” LeBlanc says.
During an Emergency Debate in the House of Commons yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called for an end to the protests.
He says everyone is tired of COVID-19, but these protests are not the way to get through it.
The City of Ottawa declared a State of Emergency over the weekend, with the Mayor stating the country’s capital is out of control due to protests.
