The youngest sister of civil rights activist Viola Desmond has passed away.
Wanda Robson passed away over the weekend at the age of 95.
Desmond was arrested in 1946 for refusing to leave a whites-only section of a New Glasgow cinema. Her courage inspired our country’s civil rights movement and Robson worked tirelessly to carry on Desmond’s story.

Robson was a long-time resident of North Sydney and was announced to be a recipient of the Order of Nova Scotia in December.
