The number of hospitalizations related to COVID-19 in New Brunswick has fallen below 100 for the first time since January 12th.
Public Health says 89 people are now in hospital which is a drop of 12 from yesterday.
Nine people require intensive care and five are on a ventilator.
The number of those in hospital for the virus stands at 44, while 45 are patients admitted for other reasons.
Three deaths were reported on Wednesday as follows:
- a person in their 70s from the Zone 1 Moncton region
- a person in their 80s from the Zone 2 Saint John region
- a person in their 60s from the Zone 3 Fredericton region
The total number of deaths is 296.
Across the province, 353 health care workers are isolating due to the virus.
In terms of positive cases, there were 305 PCR tests and 710 rapid tests.
The occupancy rate for health care facilities provincewide is 89 percent and 77 percent for intensive care units.
Vaccinations have edged up slightly with 86.2 percent of the eligible population now fully vaccinated and 48.3 percent have received booster shots.
