The number of active hospitalizations related to COVID-19 continues to fall in New Brunswick.
Public Health said there were 79 people in the hospital as of Thursday, a drop of 10 from the day before.
Figures show 39 of those were admitted to the hospital for the virus while 40 were admitted for other reasons.
Nine of those currently in the hospital are in an intensive care unit and five people are on a ventilator.
One more person who had COVID-19 has died, bringing the death toll in the province to 297.
The latest death involved a person in their 70s from the Miramichi health region.
Public Health also announced 321 new positive PCR tests and 742 positive rapid tests.
As of Thursday, 362 healthcare workers are isolating after testing positive for COVID-19.
That includes 170 from the Horizon Health Network, 139 from the Vitalité Health Network, and 53 from Extra-Mural/Ambulance New Brunswick.
Vaccine figures show 92.7 per cent of eligible residents have a first dose, 86.3 per cent have a second dose, and 48.6 per cent have a booster dose.
The rate of new PCR cases is 39.4 per 100,000 for those considered “protected” – having received their second dose within six months and/or have received their booster dose – and 49.1 per 100,000 for those with partial or no protection.
Of those currently in hospital, the rate is 49.8 per 100,000 for those considered protected and 143.5 per 100,000 for those with partial or no protection.
Among those in the ICU, the rates are 9 per 100,000 for those considered protected and 41 per 100,000 for those with partial or no protection.
