Non-profit sport organizations impacted by COVID-19 measures in recent weeks are getting some help.
The New Brunswick government is offering a one-time financial relief of up to $10,000.
It is designed for organizations that experienced financial loss due to cancelled programs or events between Dec. 13 and Feb. 18.
Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Tammy Scott-Wallace said the fund will help recovery efforts and support the not-for-profit sport sector into the future.
“The sport sector, like every aspect of society, has been hit hard by COVID-19, and we want to make sure those organizations and programs are supported,” Scott-Wallace said in a news release.
“The recent cancellation of sporting events and the restrictions on programming led to financial loss and increased participant drop out rates.”
Applications for the funding will be accepted until March 11.
