Police say a driver has been ticketed after a crash on the Reversing Falls Bridge damaged another section of the railing.
Staff Sgt. Sean Rocca said officers responded to a report of a collision on the bridge around 10:35 a.m. Saturday.
“While en route to the scene, the driver fled the scene in the damaged vehicle,” Rocca said in an email.
Rocca said police later located the driver, who was ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident. No injuries were reported
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure said crews are in the process of installing temporary barriers around the damaged area.
“The department also expects materials to arrive in the next few days to start the process of fixing the damaged railing,” department spokesperson Mark Taylor said in an email.
Taylor said crews will also be working to fix other sections of railing damaged in recent months.
In November, a pick-up truck struck the railing and was seen hanging over the edge of the bridge. No one was hurt.
