Saint John police have released new details about a police operation in the north end on Saturday night.
Police said they executed a search warrant at a First Street residence around 8 p.m. Saturday.
In a news release, police said they had reason to believe a wanted person could be inside.
“Police had reason to believe that person could be dangerous,” police said in the release on Sunday morning.
Residents in the area were asked to shelter in place and the remainder of the building was evacuated.
First Street was closed to all traffic, along with Cranston Avenue between Second Street and Somerset Street.
“The residence was searched, but the subject was not located,” said police.
Streets in the area were reopened to traffic around 10:35 p.m Saturday.
