The cost of filling up your fuel tank is again on the rise after the Energy and Utilities Board (NBEUB) invoked its interrupter clause Saturday night.
Regular self-serve has now reached a new maximum of $1.827 per litre following a nearly 11 cent increase.
Diesel prices are up by 9 cents to a new maximum of $2.003 per litre.
The price for heating oil is up by almost 10 cents and is now selling for as much as $1.834 per litre.
A series of fuel hikes over the last week are being attributed to Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
On Tuesday night, NBEUB invoked its interrupter clause to increase furnace oil prices by nearly six cents per litre.
Then weekly price adjustments were made on Wednesday night before an additional use of the interrupter clause on Thursday hiked prices across the board.
