There is now a path for the spouse of the gunman who killed 22 people in Nova Scotia to testify at an inquiry looking into the murders.
Lisa Banfield was charged with providing ammunition to Gabriel Wortman.
However, the charge will be dropped if she completes a restorative justice program.
The development clears the way for her to speak publicly about what she knows for the first time.
A lawyer for the victims families has said “there is no witness more critical than her”.
Meantime, the first three RCMP officers on the scene will also be called to testify at the inquiry in Halifax, N.S.
It’s on break until the end of March.
