New Brunswick’s Interim Liberal Leader Roger Melanson is once again calling for an independent comprehensive review of the management of the COVID-19 pandemic, “Last year, the Liberal Opposition tabled a motion calling on the Government to undergo a fully independent and comprehensive review of New Brunswick’s pandemic response, but the Higgs
Government voted it down” says Roger Melanson, Leader of the Official Opposition.
The Liberal Opposition tabled a motion last year calling on the Government to undergo a full review of New Brunswick’s pandemic response, but the Higgs Government voted it down…
Liberal Leader Roger Melanson feels we need a real review of the past two years and in order for it to have complete merit, it must be completely independent and objective…
Melanson says no one was prepared for a pandemic in 2020, but a review would help look at what worked well, and what unexpected consequences came from certain measures.
He adds it would help develop a plan for future generations in case this happens again.
He is suggesting in order to ensure true objectivity and independence, someone like the Auditor General, Paul Martin, would be ideal to lead this review.
