Another big honor for Garth Brooks! The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) announced that Garth will be honored as the next recipient of the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award. The award goes to an individual whose works have made a significant contribution to the American songbook, and one who has inspired the careers of others. Only three other artists have received the award, including the legendary Loretta Lynn (2019), Bill Anderson (2018) and Willie Nelson (2013).
The recipient is chosen personally by Kris Kristofferson and is a huge honor for anyone involved in the country music industry.
Garth called Kris the ultimate songwriter and someone he’s always looked up to throughout his career in his statement on receiving this award.
“When they name awards after artists, that award takes on an even greater meaning. Kristofferson is known as the songwriter’s songwriter…and he should be. The honor is the name on the award and the names who have received it. My hope is that through time, the Garth Brooks name is worthy of such an honor. This is going to be a cool night.”
The show will be held on September 20th at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

Whos’ ready to fish this weekend?! Luke Combs stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a hilarious segment, where he appeared as an amateur fishing salesman.
Dressed from head to toe in fishing gear, the singer admits that while he loves to fish, he’s “no pro.” That’s why he starts every trip with a visit to “Bass Amateur Shop,” “the place for people who love to fish, but don’t have the faintest idea how to do it,” Luke explains. The parody of Bass Pro Shop features fumbling employees who attempt to help clueless customers, answering their “stupidest questions” like “how wet is the fish going to be?” and “are fish animals or dolphins?” “So come on down to Bass Amateur Shop, ‘cuz you don’t have to be a professional to get drunk on a lake.”
