It is going to be another hot and humid day across much of New Brunswick.
The heat warning issued by Environment Canada continues for inland areas.
Areas under the warning include:
- Fredericton and Southern York County
- Grand Lake and Queens County
- Kent County
- Kouchibouguac National Park
- Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
- Oromocto and Sunbury County
- St. Stephen and Northern Charlotte County
- Stanley – Doaktown – Blackville Area
- Sussex – Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County
- Woodstock and Carleton County
- Acadian Peninsula
- Bathurst and Chaleur Region
- Miramichi and area
- Mount Carleton – Renous Highway
The national weather agency says highs are expected to reach 30°C to 33°C.
But the humidity will make those temperatures feel more like 36 to 39.
We are not expecting the heat and humidity to break until after the weekend.
Temperatures will be cooler along the Fundy coast, which is no longer under the heat warning.
Two temperature records were broken or tied across the province on Thursday.
St. Stephen reached a high of 32.4°C, breaking the old record of 31.1°C set in 1968.
The high of 28°C in Bas-Caraquet tied the record set in 1985.
⚠️ HEAT WARNINGS IN EFFECT THIS WEEKEND ⚠️
Warm weather will continue through the weekend, with the hottest day expected on Sunday. On Monday into Tuesday, a cold front will sweep through the Maritimes and bring a welcome reprieve from the heat. #nbstormhttps://t.co/eWpEpZTOEr pic.twitter.com/CMCtoMLl0N
