Saint John police are seeking witnesses after a robbery at an outside party over the weekend.
Officers responded to the 800 block of Grandview Avenue shortly before 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
“It was reported that a number of teens were attending an outside party in the area. At least three teens had been robbed with weapons and a chemical irritant,” police said in a news release on Monday.
Minor injuries were reported and no arrests had been made as of Monday morning.
Police are seeking witnesses or anyone with information who may have attended the party.
Armed man breaks into west side home
One person was arrested over the weekend after a man armed with a knife broke into a west side home.
Saint John police responded to a Charlotte Street West residence shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday.
“It was reported that 30-year-old man, who appeared to be impaired by drugs, had broken into the home and was armed with a knife,” police said in a release.
The residents barricaded themselves in a bedroom until officers arrived.
Officers found a man in the home suffering from serious injuries sustained during the break-in.
“Police were able to detain the suspect who was transported to hospital for treatment. No other physical injuries were reported,” said the release.
The Major Crime Unit is investigating and charges are pending.
Arrest made after theft from business
Officers also made an arrest following a theft from a business on Westmorland Road.
Police were called just after 3 p.m. Sunday and obtained a suspect vehicle description.
Officers stopped the suspect vehicle on Route 1 westbound near Exit 125 a short time later.
A 28-year-old passenger was arrested for shoplifting and possessing stolen property.
He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court on theft and assault charges,
