A 21-year-old man is facing charges after two people were stabbed in northeastern New Brunswick.
Mounties say the incident happened outside of a restaurant JD Gauthier Boulevard in Shippagan at around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
“Upon arriving at the scene, police located two victims suffering from stab wounds,” RCMP said in a news release on Friday.
A 41-year-old man was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The second victim, also a 41-year-old man, was treated by paramedics at the scene for minor injuries.
Police said a 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with the assault later the same evening.
Jason Wayne Mcmahon of Six Roads is charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
Mcmahon has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on Monday for a bail hearing.
