Team New Brunswick claimed two more medals in track and field on Friday at the 2022 Canada Summer Games in Niagara.
Samuel Bourque, of Notre-Dame, won a silver medal in the men’s shot, and Jarod Manuel, of Baie-Sainte-Anne, received a bronze medal in the hammer throw.
In the 100m wheelchair, Dante Cormier, of Moncton, came within less than one second of grabbing the bronze medal.
In addition, the women’s 4 x 100m relay team, consisting of Shelby MacIsaac, of Riverview, Carys Jacobson and Tavia Salkey, both of Fredericton, and Caroline Gagnon, of Moncton, smashed the provincial record with a time of 46.78 seconds, finishing fifth overall.
With these medals, Team New Brunswick now has 16 medals (two gold, five silver and nine bronze) as they enter the final weekend of the competition.
