If you’ve ever wanted to stay a night on Nova Scotia’s lovable Theodore Tugboat, this might be your chance.
Airbnb is offering two individual one-night stays to four people each on September 10 and 11.
Bookings will open on Monday, August 29 marking the first time non-crew can stay the night on the tug.
“Oh, hello there! Welcome aboard Theodore TOO, the beloved 65-foot, real-life, bright-eyed and bushy-bumpered tugboat. I’m lucky to captain Theodore this summer, and I’m thrilled to welcome you aboard for a night. You’ll cozy up in our cabins surrounded by memorabilia celebrating Canada’s nautical history, enjoy a movie night on the deck — and of course, take a cruise in Hamilton’s Harbour with some of my finest crew members.
Booking opens at 12pm EST on August 29, 2022.” – Captain Noah
Airbnb states on its website this is not a contest and people will be selected on a first come, first served basis. However, being the lucky guests will depend on how fast you can book your reservation.
“In honour of these stays, Airbnb will make a one-time donation to The Sunshine Foundation of Canada, a national charity that fulfills dreams for children and youth living with severe physical disabilities. For 35 years now (and counting), Sunshine has created more than 8,800 life-changing experiences for children and youth across Canada, and is a cause close to Theodore TOO’s heart.” – Airbnb
The tugboat now calls the Port of Hamilton home after sailing the Halifax Harbour for 21 years.
The lovable tug was built at Synder’s Shipyard in Dayspring, N.S. in 2000 and is based on the fictional television character Theodore Tugboat.
