Four men have been arrested in connection with a scam targeting senior citizens.
Saint John Police started getting calls on Monday afternoon around 5:30 p.m. about a group of people posing as police officers, lawyers and clergy calling seniors and stating that their grandkids were either in an accident or in jail and needed cash to help them.
Four men, a 19-year-old, 21-year-old, 23-year-old and 42-year-old, were arrested after two separate incidents.
Police also said this group was also reported to be in the Fredericton area.
The Saint John Police suggest informing the seniors in your life about this scam.
If you get a call like this, hang up and contact the senior directly and should the caller pose as a police officer, hang up and contact police.
