New Brunswick is near the top of the list when it comes to tuition costs for undergraduate degrees.
Statistics Canada is out with new data comparing school fees for all publicly-funded universities and degree-granting colleges in the country.
New Brunswick has the third-priciest tuition at $8,284 for this academic year, according to the report. That is more than 21 per cent higher than the national average of $6,834.
Neighbouring Nova Scotia has the most expensive tuition, on average, at $9,328.
You will pay the lowest tuition costs in Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador at around $3,400.
Meanwhile, graduate students in New Brunswick will pay an average of $7,272 in tuition, just under the national average of $7,437. Nova Scotia, once again, has the highest tuition fees at $10,591.
The report also found a significant difference in tuition fees depending on the field of study.
Canadian graduate students will pay the highest tuition fees for executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) and regular MBA programs.
Full-time graduate students in business, management and public administration and dentistry will also face higher tuition fees, followed by students in mathematics, computer and information sciences and engineering.
Canadian undergraduate students in dentistry, medicine, veterinary medicine, law, pharmacy, and optometry will pay the highest average tuition fees.
Other undergraduate programs that will also face higher tuition fees than the national average include engineering; business, management and public administration; and mathematics, computer and information sciences.
