New Brunswick’s Liberal leader has named the leader of the official opposition in the legislature.
Moncton Centre MLA Rob McKee will also act as the health critic, the party announced in a news release on Wednesday.
Party leader Susan Holt said she has full confidence in McKee as a leader who listens, cares deeply, and works extremely hard.
“Over the last few years, he has worked as finance critic, as a strong mental health advocate and more,” Holt said in the release.
“He has proven to New Brunswickers that we can get work done in the Legislative Assembly in a positive and respectful way, while still highlighting opportunities for improvement.”
Holt was elected as the new leader of the provincial Liberals in early August. Because she is not an MLA, she is not able to serve as the official opposition leader in the legislature.
Robert Gauvin will take on a new role within the party as the caucus campaign chair
Chuck Chiasson has been named the caucus chair while Francine Landry will serve as caucus whip.
