A familiar face has been named the chief executive officer of the Fundy Regional Service Commission (FRSC).
Phil Ouellette currently works as Saint John’s deputy commissioner of growth and community planning.
According to a memo sent to regional municipalities, Ouellette will begin his new role on Oct. 11.
“Phil brings with him strong leadership experience in municipal and provincial leadership roles over the past 10+ years,” Ken Anthony, transition leader for FRSC, wrote in the memo.
Ouellette will report to Anthony until the local governance reform process is complete in early January.
The province’s 12 regional service commissions will take on expanded mandates as part of the reforms, including economic development, tourism promotion, community development, and regional transportation.
“I am confident that with your collaboration and teamwork, we will ensure that the Fundy RSC will
achieve its planned objectives by January 2023 and beyond,” wrote Anthony.
