Do not be surprised to see emergency vehicles at the Saint John Airport on Wednesday.
A mock emergency exercise is taking place at the airport from 10 a.m. until noon.
Officials said the exercise will be taking place airside and will not impact passengers.
“Residents may notice emergency response vehicles such as Saint John Police, Fire, and Ambulance NB, among others through the morning, however, traffic disruptions are not expected,” said a release from the airport.
Transport Canada requires airports to perform a live security exercise every two years and a live safety exercise every four years.
Airports are also required to perform tabletop exercises every year there is not live exercise.
