Oromocto RCMP have requested help to find a 54-year-old man who owns a boat found overturned on the Saint John River.
Officers responded on Tuesday afternoon to a report of a wooden sailboat found overturned in the water in the Queenstown area.
No one was on the boat but police did find personal belongings.
Police are looking for the boat’s owner, Chris Pittner of Kars, who was last seen loading his boat at the Wickham Wharf on Tuesday.
RCMP have not been able to find him despite following up and several leads.
Both Pittner’s family and the police are concerned for his wellbeing.
A clothing description and photo were not provided.
The search for Pttner includes the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team, the Coast Guard, Halifax Joint Rescue Co-Ordination Centre and Ground Search and Rescue.
Residents may notice these teams in the area of Queenstown on Wednesday.
