A weekend fire forced a family in west Saint John from their home for the time being.
Fire crews were called to the home in the Bay Street area around 10 p.m. Sunday.
Platoon Chief Brian Wilson said crews found smoke coming from the window of a second-floor bedroom.
“Crews entered and extinguished that quickly and kept the fire to one room,” Wilson said in an interview on Monday morning.
Damage to the home was minimal, he said, but noted there will be “significant repairs” required to the second floor of the home.
There were at least three people in the home when the fire broke out but no injuries were reported, said Wilson.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The crew of Engine 7 along with three other City Fire Crews quickly contained an overnight house fire on SJ’s West Side.
