Lainey Wilson will be honored as the “Breakout Artist of the Year” at the upcoming 2022 CMT Artists Of The Year celebration on Oct. 14th CMT.
She’s the fifth recipient of the award, following Mickey Guyton (2021), Ashley McBryde (2019), Kelsea Ballerini (2016), and Chris Stapleton (2015).
The news comes on the heels of Lainey’s back-to-back No.1 singles, “Things A Man Oughta Know” and “Never Say Never” with Cole Swindell.
Her new album, Bell Bottom Country which includes her latest single, “Heart Like A Truck” and “Watermelon Moonshine” is dropping on Oct. 28th.
Carrie Underwood – Since her collab with Jason Aldean on ‘If I Didn’t Love You’ went #1 and won several awards, she says she receives invitations to duet with others “every week”. But she says the collab “has to make sense” musically. Quote: “Sometimes I don’t get why they would ask me. I don’t make any sense with that person. But it’s all good. I feel like it’s a compliment.”
