A New Brunswick-based first aid training firm is working to save more lives through franchising.
Life Start Training, located in Saint John, is searching for franchisees throughout the Maritimes.
The firm is looking to set up locations in Fredericton, Halifax, Dartmouth, Truro, Cape Breton, and Prince Edward Island.
CEO Khryspn Jensen originally thought about working with independent training centres and allowing them to offer Life Start programs.
But Jensen said she wanted to have more control over the content and delivery of training, which she said is critical to improving survival rates.
“The instructor plays a big part in helping participants feel confident to use their new skills in emergency situations,” said Jensen.
Jensen launched Life Start in 2016 after learning that out-of-hospital survival rates for cardiac events were below 2016.
She wanted to find a way to teach people first aid in a fun and memorable way that will result in more lives being saved.
Jensen said franchisees will get all of the tools needed to succeed much quicker than it typically takes in this industry.
“Life Start Training franchisees will have access to standardized training content and methods so no matter where you take first aid through Life Start, you will get the best experience every time,” she said, adding that owners can expect “strong financial returns” on their investment.
Life Start is currently approved to teach in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, P.E.I, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan, and expects to receive regulatory approval in more provinces in the coming months.
