We have lots of rain on the way for much of New Brunswick over the next couple of days.
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for western and parts of central New Brunswick.
That includes Charlotte County, Fredericton and southern York County, and Oromocto and Sunbury County.
Periods of heavy rain are expected to begin Tuesday morning and continue through Wednesday.
Thundershowers are also possible with this system through Tuesday night.
Forecasters said between 40 and 90 millimetres of rain is expected in areas under the rainfall warning.
“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible,” read the warning from the national weather agency.
Meanwhile, a special weather statement has been issued for portions of southern and northern New Brunswick.
That includes Saint John and County, Sussex – Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County, and Grand Lake and Queens County.
Ares under the special weather statement could see between 30 and 60 millimetres of rain.
“Rainfall rates will occasionally be high which will lead [to] excessive water runoff and water pooling on roadways giving difficult driving conditions,” said the statement.
“Total rainfall amounts will be high for some localities due to the long duration of the rain, which may not end until Wednesday evening.”
